Dietry course - Additional information
Based on our experience we would like to take this opportunity to offer you a few words of advice as to how best to benefit from the diet and what you should continue to do after the 4-week course of treatment.
You will almost certainly feel the effects of the change in diet during the first three or four days – body detox and on your metabolism.
However, once the first three or four days are over you will find yourself feeling generally much better and your levels of performance increasing.
However, it is important that you continue to eat a normal breakfast every day, for example, one or two bread rolls or bread with butter, marmelade or honey and perhaps an egg or some muesli (this corresponds to a nutritional intake of approximately 300 to 600 calories). There is also no reason why you should not enjoy a hot breakfast as long as you restrict yourself to this calory range.
During the day we recommend 2-3 Protein drinks.
We believe that when you are preparing your drink, it is important that you only use cold skimmed milk (1.5%). This will give the best flavour and nourishment.
If you suffer from a milk allergy then mix the drink powder with water.
You should mix the drink with an electric food mixer or blender. If you use a hand whisk then you might find the drink becomes lumpy.
Adding two or three ice cubes also tends to enhance the flavour.
Dissolve two heaped scoops (depending on how physically active you are) of the Musenhof Protein Drink in approximately 250ml of cold skimmed milk.
Your liquid intake should consist of at least two litres per day.
If you still feel hungry then you may additionally eat a few tomatoes, some cucumber, radishes, leeks or mushrooms during the course of the day. You are also welcome to drink a glass of wine in the evenings
Under no circumstances should you eat fruit or drink fruit juices during the period of the diet except at breakfast. The intake of fruit leads to the production of insulin in the body and a reduced antilipolysis i.e. a degradation in fat reduction.
If you have any social commitments during the course of the diet, for example, dinner in the evening, then you should eat a mediterranean style meal as a substitute for the protein drink. Under no circumstances should you eat anything sweet but instead stick to food with little fat such as fish, poultry and vegetables or salad.
After the 4-week diet, when the body and the metabolism have grown accustomed to the change in diet, you should then continue as follows:
Continue to have a protein drink made from one scoop of powder and skimmed milk both with your lunch and with the evening meal. By doing this your body will continue to receive the vital substances it needs to increase your lean mass (muscle mass, cellular tissue, ligaments and tendons etc.).
You should reduce your main meals to about half or a quarter of what you ate previous to the diet and should also try to consciously change your dietary habits: lean poultry, non-fatty fish, steamed vegetables, salads etc..
And you should continue to reduce the amounts of carbohydrates and, in particular, you should avoid fruit, fruit juices, potatoes, pasta, bread, dumplings and puddings.
We hope that this advice will be of to help you.
